LAM SERIES COLUMNAR LINE ARRAY LOUDSPEAKERS

A line array loudspeaker system features a number of identical (or nearly identical) loudspeakers arranged in a vertical line: hence the name.

Line array systems can be Columnar Line Arrays or flown stacks for very large venues. They can be vertical or sometimes horizontal (as in subwoofer arrays) They can digitally steered arrays or manually aligned arrays.

Orange Pale’s LAM series was developed as a more cost-effective passive alternative to the flagship LAD series and offered easier integration with existing amplification.

  • The key characteristics include:
    • High Directivity system: The design of the LAM series ensured that sound spillage to the ceiling and floor was minimized within 10 degrees whilst maintaining a very broad horizontal dispersion.
    • Excellent clarity of speech with double to triple the throw distance of conventional box speakers (measured 60 -100 feet in free field conditions)
    • High power and fatigue free High sound pressure (120dB) levels capable of handling 480W-1300W per enclosure (LAM12/LAM16/LAM32)
    • Modular and stackable- 4, 8,12, 16, 32, 64 driver combinations could be configured.
    • Visually unobtrusive and identical in appearance to the LAD powered Network Arrays. (see pic)
    • Upgradeable over the years to either Active DSP (DPA) or Network (LAD) configurations. The original investment remains intact!
