This is a 200 Year old ASI protected Scottish church, one of the landmarks of Chennai. The church is almost entirely a big dome. In the old days natural acoustics were sufficient but with the onset of the high road and the railway station behind it, ambient sound increased and the need for amplification was felt. But there was terrible reverberation /echoes with regular amplification. Speech was NOT intelligible. More and more speakers were added which made the problem even worse. Orange Pale was requested to provide a solution. Acoustical treatment was ruled out since this is a heritage site.
The Open Baffle System One (TVS)
Orange Pale custom designed and manufactured slim line LAM16 Columnar Line Arrays which offered wide horizontal dispersion but limited the vertical reflections. This was coupled with a special subwoofer that’s coupled to their Digital Pipe Organ that can reproduce extremely deep bass with absolute authority. The modularity of the system ensured that it was updated to the latest active DSP technology while the original investment remained intact!

Orange Pale installed just 4 of their LAD16 Digital Beam Steerable Networked Loudspeakers. With careful alignment of the sound beams, the sound avoids getting into the choir mics but reaches the audience by practically jumping over them! This is simply not possible with conventional systems.
